Simple, basic hotel but very clean. Staff were helpful and informative. Breakfast though was very basic and repetitive , which was frustrating and while the lovely lady running the buffet kept replenishing, food was very quickly exhausted when extra guests arrived for breakfast. Considering Vice-Rei was on a main road, the area was generally quite. Good restaurant opposite, but expensive. (XXL),. However the food hall around the corner, behind the hotel was excellent with amazing choice and value. 10 minutes to the Metro into the centre and easy access to the nailing stations for traveling further afield.

Great location, near the metro and with very good bus connections to the heart of the city or to the coastline. Plenty of food options and grocery stores nearby. There is a café with bakery products right outside the door. The hotel itself is very old style (seems to be a common theme in the city), the staff are nice and the rooms are kept very clean. The bed was comfortable :) The beds are extremely high though, if you're a shorter person you may have trouble :) On the other hand the toilet is very low (compared to central Europe) so if you're too tall you'll be sitting weird.

Spacious clean rooms, friendly helpful staff. Easy to get to from the airport, and easy to explore Porto from. The bed was very comfortable, I was able to easily extend my stay. Late night check-in was also possible, I arrived at 1:00 am. There is a food hall behind the hotel and a supermarket, and a shopping centre. There is a cafe right outside the hotel. I like walking so I didn't find the location a problem at all, 30 minutes to the old town or the beach. It is uphill on the way back. There seemed to be a bus station behind the hotel.

Nathan

Loved the atmosphere at the hotel, the guys on reception were so polite and extremely helpful recommending places to eat and arranging taxis, and giving us directions. We had an issue with the noise late one night from nearby construction of the new subway, and they did not hesitate to move us the next morning into a room on the other side of the hotel which was much quieter. All in all, a very pleasant hotel for the price, with breakfast included as well. and I would definitely return on future trips to Porto.

The room was amazing with a walk out to a balcony up on the third floor .This Hotel was amazing and the breakfast which was 6.95 Euro's was excellent, all you could eat fresh fruits already sliced up. Pineapples, Apple's, pomegranate, yogurts, ham and cheese sandwiches you could toast if you so wished.and ofcourse great coffee tea etc,,.I can't say enough great thing's about this amazing place the Vice Rei Hotel. Local bus to downtown and also a 5 minute walk to a metro station! Lovely location too.
